The Launglon People’s Defense Force (PDF) launched an attack on Burma army soldiers who were stationed in an immigration office in Launglon town.

According to a PDF officer, they focused their assault on the enemy’s bunker during the surprise attack, which lasted 40 minutes and took place last week. The enemy retaliated with machine gun fire, while soldiers housed in the town police station fired 60 mm shells into a nearby paddy field during the skirmish.

The officer reported that at least three enemy soldiers were killed, while no casualties were reported from their own group.

Meanwhile, the regime bombarded Shawng and Pein Shawng villages with artillery throughout the night, forcing villagers to flee their homes.

Junta troops have been deployed to residences surrounding the police station in Launglon, a Buddhist monastery in downtown Dawei, and Let The Shay hill near Dawei.

Last May, the Dawei Guerilla Force and Dawei Dragon Company No. 5 conducted a joint attack on the Launglon immigration office, resulting in the death of one staff member.

Since February, all staff members have relocated to Dawei.
